Timeless Crowe Mansion Wedding at One of North Carolina's Most Elegant Estates
As an established Charlotte wedding photographer, I have the opportunity to photograph celebrations at some incredible venues throughout the Carolinas. Josie and Ethan's wedding at Crowe Mansion in Lincolnton, North Carolina was one of those days where elegant architecture, meaningful relationships, and thoughtful planning came together beautifully.
Crowe Mansion is one of the Charlotte region's most impressive wedding venues. The estate took four years to build, under the guidance of architect Richard Gillespie, and was patterned after Williamsburg's historic Carter's Grove Plantation. Today, the property serves as a premier event venue featuring a sweeping outdoor pavilion, stunning grounds, and an expansive indoor reception hall capable of hosting up to 400 guests.
Crowe Mansion provided a stunning backdrop at every turn. The estate's classic architecture, grand entrances, and beautifully manicured grounds offer countless opportunities for wedding portraits. Whether we were capturing quiet moments between Josie and Ethan, formal family photographs, or candid celebrations with friends, the venue's timeless character elevated every image.
Tailoring Wedding Photography
From the moment I met Josie, it was clear that she had an incredible sense of style and a clear vision for her wedding day. Throughout the planning process, we worked closely together to create imagery that would feel timeless, elegant, and authentic to who she and Ethan are as a couple. One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is helping couples translate their vision into photographs that will still feel beautiful decades from now, and Josie embraced that approach wholeheartedly.
The day was filled with meaningful personal connections as well. I was honored to be referred for the wedding by another photographer who is a close friend of the family, making the opportunity especially rewarding. Adding another layer of connection, Ethan is a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School, where my daughters attend. It's always enjoyable to discover those unexpected ties that bring a sense of community.
Film and Digital Photos
Throughout the day, I photographed with film cameras and Kodak Portra 400 film for soft tones, natural color, and timeless quality. Film has a way of slowing things down, encouraging intention with every frame. Alongside film, I used digital cameras when appropriate, later editing those images to align with the look and feel of the film. The result is a cohesive gallery that blends the best of both mediums—honest, enduring, and true to the day as it unfolded.
If you’re planning a wedding at Crowe Mansion or another venue nearby Charlotte NC and want thoughtful, artful pictures in digital and film, I’d love to talk.
