Film Engagement Session at Alexander Homestead

Spring afternoon in love, caught on film at Alexander Homestead in Charlotte NC. This engagement session felt like the perfect preview of everything this couple’s wedding day will be: joyful, timeless, and centered on simply being together. On a sunny April afternoon in Charlotte, we walked the private grounds of this historic estate capturing moments on Kodak Portra 400 film, documenting this season of their lives with a softness and authenticity that only film can provide.

Later this summer, these two will exchange vows at St. Gabriel Catholic Church before celebrating with family and friends back at Alexander Homestead for their reception. Photographing their engagement session at the same venue where they’ll soon celebrate their marriage made the experience even more meaningful. Pathways, garden corners, and stretch of golden light carried the anticipation of what is to come.

As a PPA-trained Certified Professional Photographer specializing in weddings, my goal is faithfully telling couples’ stories in a way that feels honest and timeless. If you’re planning a wedding in Charlotte and drawn to organic, true-to-life photographs — on digital or film, I’d love to connect and hear more about your plans.

Digital+Film Wedding Photographer

As a wedding photographer in Charlotte, NC, I’ve learned that every couple’s story deserves to be told with intention, emotion, and artistry. Over my twenty years of experience, I’ve refined my signature style of romantic elegance meeting editorial sophistication—pastel tones, luminous light, and candid moments with a polished finish. One of the most meaningful ways I achieve this balance is by photographing weddings with a mix of digital and film.

Blending both mediums allows me to create a wedding gallery that feels timeless yet modern, refined yet deeply emotional, and—above all—true to the couple I’m documenting.

I photographed this lovely newly engaged couple at the Mint Museum in Charlotte NC on Ilford HP5 Plus black and white 35mm film, as well as digital.

Robertson Homestead Engagement

Romantic Engagement Session at Robertson Homestead in Rock Hill. On a crisp fall evening, I met up with this sweet couple for an outdoor engagement session at the historic Robertson Homestead, the site of their wedding next year.  A large wooded property with a creek running through it, an 18th century estate house, and wide open spaces were perfect for natural, organic photos.  As a Charlotte wedding photographer, Robertson Homestead was an easy drive from my studio. Excited to go back to Robertson Homestead, Rock Hill SC, for this couple’s wedding next year.
