Extended Wedding at The Union Exchange
An Extended Wedding Weekend at The Union Exchange in Monroe, NC
Photographing a wedding weekend is about stepping into a deeper experience for the wedding party — and this celebration at Union Exchange in Monroe, North Carolina was exactly that. From Friday through Sunday, the couple and their families created a meaningful, immersive experience for their guests, with loved ones traveling from across the country to be part of it all. Every moment unfolded across the venue’s expansive 54-acre property, giving the entire weekend a sense of intention, and continuity.
The weekend began with a warm, welcoming energy as guests settled in, reconnecting ahead of the wedding day. By Saturday, there was a refreshed sense of closeness among everyone.
Capturing the Day with Digital and Film
As a PPA-trained Certified Professional Photographer specializing in weddings, my goal telling each couple’s story in a way that feels honest, timeless, and true to who they are. This wedding was photographed with a blend of digital and film photography, a combination that continues to shape how I document weddings. Digital allowed me to move quickly and capture fleeting moments as they happen—especially during candid interactions throughout the day. Film often brings a slower, more intentional approach. During quieter moments, film creates images with a softness and depth that feels both timeless and organic. The balance between the two mediums tells a fuller story, one that reflects the vibrancy and intimacy of the wedding weekend.
If you’re planning a wedding weekend around Charlotte NC and are drawn to sweeping private outdoor spaces, The Union Exchange is a wedding venue you should visit. And if you’re looking for a photographer to capture your wedding timelessly on both digital and film—I’d love to tell your story.
Charlotte Maternity Pictures
When one of my favorite wedding couples reached out a year later to share they were expecting a baby and wanted me to be their maternity photographer, it was an immediate yes. I love staying in contact with my couples and photographing their growing families in the following years. We decided to meet back at the Union Exchange, where they were married and a place we all felt would be perfect for natural, organic pictures highlighting the maternity and a continuation of their relationship and family.
